Is Wii worth it? Wii 2 is coming out.

I am considering purchasing a Wii but I'm wondering if it's worth all the money. I just heard that Wii 2 is supposed to come out in 2010 or 2011. Spending $250 on a Wii plus the hundreds I would spend for the games (like Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Wii Fit) seems like a gigantic waste of money. I remember spending a lot on a Nintendo and Sega Genesis in the '90s and then shortly after I bought them they became obsolete. I expect that to happen with the advancing technology but I think I have a tendency to hold off too long on buying them to save money. Then when I finally do get one they're on the verge of becoming obsolete and I don't have knowledge of that.

So, do you think it would be worth it to buy a Wii now? Does anyone know whether Wii 2 games could be played on a Wii? I think my big problem with game consoles in the 90s is that once a new one came out (like SNES) you couldn't play those games on NES. But if I could play Wii 2 games on Wii, that wouldn't be so bad, even if it was lacking in quality because it was an older console.

I'd really appreciate opinions on this. Honestly, $250 is a LOT to spend on a game console, at least to me anyway. Heck, I think $15 is too much to spend on jeans.

no its thrash buy old nintendo systems they will lastforever they were made in japan and the new systems are made in china and the games are thrash. Buy a super nintendo wit bunch of games like on ebay there proly under 50 with games and controllers.
