If it is dirty how should I go about cleaning it and if it is damaged where do I get another one? I would appreciate if anyone had any input in this.
P.S. Don't tell me to get another one please.

My console does the same thing from time to time, the games can get dirty and the contacts get build up on them, try putting the games in and out a few times( you will feel when the contacts are meeting) then take out the game and blow hard and fast onto the contacts, then try to play your game again.
It's always worked for me, just keep trying.
