Question I have a problem with my NES Console...

My NES Console has a slight problem in it. When I plug it into the wall and turn it on the power button just blinks on and off. I looked up this problem on the Nintendo website and it said this could be due to the AC adaptor being damaged or dirty. If it is dirty how should I go about cleaning it and if it is damaged where do I get another one? I would appreciate if anyone had any input in this.
P.S. Don't tell me to get another one please.

I know I've seen adapters on ebay. Also, I'm pretty sure I used my SNES adapter with my NES when I first got the snes and didn't have room for both adapters. Got one of those?

ok thanks but I think that I am going to try cleaning it first. If that doesn't work I may just buy one off eBay.

My console does the same thing from time to time, the games can get dirty and the contacts get build up on them, try putting the games in and out a few times( you will feel when the contacts are meeting) then take out the game and blow hard and fast onto the contacts, then try to play your game again.
It's always worked for me, just keep trying.

normally when the light blinks on my console it normally means that the cartridge isn't in the console properly. to clean the pins in the cartridge i normally blow them & then if that doesn't work then try cleaning them with a cotton bud
