I remember when I was hanging out with a friend a few years ago we were getting ready to go Free-run, I was in his room trolling his closet for Atari games because we were going through this hardcore Atari phase at the time and I found a Super Mario Brothers game for Atari. I was like wtf? Have any of you encountered a game with the name of 'Super Mario Bros.' for Atari?

Never seen mario on it, there was a rip off of mario bros 1. the great giana sisters or something...almost identical to the original with a few differences. was on c64 and spectrum amstrad cpc etc.
It was either Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World that also has this little added multi-player game. It was pretty simple, you were either Mario or Luigi and you would try to kill the other one with the enemies that would walk around the screen. It's like that on the Atari but lower quality graphic-wise.

Yeah, the original Mario Bros. (not Super) was released for Atari systems (and others). This was before Nintendo introduced the NES, of course. Donkey Kong was also available on many older systems, including the 2600.
