If I buy a Japanese gameboy will it have any effect on the language of the games. If I buy a japanese game for it can I switch it to English.

personaly I wouldnt know. I would think that the gba would have no effect with the language, and as far as the language switch goes for the the game I don't think you could, unless you had a spacific modual that actulay pluged the game in, and you switched it useing a language translator or something. I personaly wouldnt know, but that would be my best gusse as to what should happen.

I don't think it would have an effect on the language, but the issue is would it accept the American made games. I have seen this with a few consoles (I don't know about hand held) that I tried putting a Japanese game in and they wouldn't work. So I suggest you do a little more research on that man.

Nintendo Fanboy for LIFE and I'm not afraid to admit it.

I don't think that any of the games from a certain area can be played on another countries console. The American, Japanese and European versions of the Snes consoles are all very different including the shape of the games, not just coding and laguage settings.

I found a store that sells Japanese gba carts. According to the store owner they work fine on western gba's, so I assume that our games would work fine on japanese gbas as well if that's the case. And beforedeath2007 it's very easy to play Japanese snes games on a western snes. You just remove 2 pieces of plastic from the loading bay which stop you from inserting a Japanese cart. I even made an instructional video at the request of a friend.

Apparently they never cared about putting any form of region protection on their hand-held systems. They only did that for home systems.
